In Porto there is a program called: Growing up in School.
In the northern part of Porto, poor families live with a high number of Roma families. The school involves community and show a divers pallet of pedagogical tools to engage students optimal in their school career.
The challenge is to deal with inequalities structure and diversity.
In order for teachers to be transformative agents, it is needed a change in their symbolic universes and structural conditions for their professional practice. In the video below you can watch how the school progresses.
